I remember back in college I had a trend forecasting blog project. I HATE IT SO MUCH. I told my friends and professor that blogger is the least thing I want to do in my life. And guess what, now I have to start to blog again, and hopefully this time will be a positive experience. Finger crossed!
The first week at RCA is far more exciting than I could ever expected, I am thrilled to start this new journey with all the inspiring tutors and peers that are all unique in their own creative practices. The Pecha Kucha session is also such a great start to know everyone in the class. This is my first time to do Pecha Kucha, a highly visualised and fast pace way of storytelling/presentation. It perfectly forces you to edit out the unnecessary or less important information which is actually quite challenging. And I cannot think of a better way to introduce myself in my first blog with my Pecha Kucha.

Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. And later travelled to Hong Kong studied at SCAD’s HK campus. This is the very beginning of my journey in the field of art and design.
I was major in Fashion Marketing and Management, which gave me the chance to learn the different aspects of fashion and to discover my passion in fashion design.
The fashion I planned and executed for the fashion graduates. In this fashion show I want to emphasize on the idea that fashion is not just about clothes, but also about the process and the concept.
My first apparel project which I created a special felting piece inspired by expressionism. I love experimenting with materials and is interested in creating innovative texture.
This project is about the sharing aesthetics of samurai culture and ballet. Fashion is a way for me to discuss about the concept/ imagination that is difficult to describe in words.
My fashion internships! Left: Thakoon (in their HK studio where they were experimenting with the see now buy now strategy) Right: Ming-Studio (Designer brand used to based in London)
After graduated, visual communication became a huge part of my career. I’ve worked from graphic design, digital contents, photoshoot execution to 3D installation.
Dleet is a designer brand based in Taipei. I was working on different aspects in the brand from marketing to design, which later made me realize that I want to switch my focus to fashion design.
Fine art is the inspiration coming across most of my works. Abstract Expressionism and minimalism are two of the movement that influences me the most.
My recent work is inspired by Agnes Martin. I was trying to use minimal design to portrait emotions/stories, and how that is possible to be transferred from garment to the wearer, and in the end to the eye of the viewer.
After the Pecha Kucha session, it is also interesting to know how many people crossing from different disciplines are inspired by Agnes Martin’s works. I might write another blog to talk about Agnes Martin as my inspiration and how that influences me. Stay tuned!

Nice to know your stories in fashion journey again here. I used to search for SCAD in HK too didn’t know you are an alumni there! And I’m also (sometimes) into minimalism as well, so would be great to know about about Agnes Martin as well. Keep going!
